Dispatches investigates one of the most powerful and influential political lobbies in Britain, which is working in support of the interests of the State of Israel.

Despite wielding great influence among the highest realms of British politics and media, little is known about the individuals and groups which collectively are known as the pro-Israel lobby.

Political commentator Peter Oborne sets out to establish who they are, how they are funded, how they work and what influence they have, from the key groups to the wealthy individuals who help bankroll the lobbying.

He investigates how accountable, transparent and open to scrutiny the lobby is, particularly in regard to its funding and financial support of MPs.

The pro-Israel lobby aims to shape the debate about Britain's relationship with Israel and future foreign policies relating to it.

Oborne examines how the lobby operates from within parliament and the tactics it employs behind the scenes when engaging with print and broadcast media.

IN WHAT HAS BECOME AN ALL TOO FAMILIAR PATTERN, THIS VIDEO IS SUDDENLY "NO LONGER AVAILABLE", WITH THE EXCUSE THAT THERE IS A "COPYRIGHT VIOLATION."

Of course, we know what is really at issue. Israel is terrified that yet another nation is starting to openly discuss the undue influence of the Israel lobby on their government. And they fear the start of a trend. It is one thing for the world to say, "Those poor Americans; sold out to Israel by their own government", but if Great Britain is suddenly seen to have the same subversive activity happening to them, then other countries will start asking, "Is it happening to us as well? Is our government subverted by a hidden Israeli lobby?" That is a question which (like most questions regarding the orthodox account of WW2) Israel cannot allow to be asked, let alone answered.

The irony here is that by exerting their influence to get this video shut down, Israel has once again shown that they do indeed wield great control over other people's countries. (WRH)
