Gaza - Israeli naval forces opened fire at fishermen off the coast of Gaza on Monday, locals said, forcing them to return to shore.
No injuries were reported, but the purported witnesses said the fire has become an almost daily occurrence.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said there was no such activity in the area.
Last Sunday, naval forces detained four fishermen off the Sudaniyya coast in northern Gaza. They were identified as Awad Ramadan Sultan, Fadl Jamal Sultan, Sharif Muhammad Sultan, and Samih Rajab Sultan.
At the time, an Israeli military spokesman said two boats crossed into an area not permitted for Palestinian vessels, and were detained for questioning when they refused orders to turn around.
The same day, Egyptian security sources denied detaining four fishermen off the coast of Rafah.
