Israeli settlers attacks were reported on Monday at two Palestinian villages located near Nablus city northern West Bank.
At the village of Oreef settlers closed the road that leads to the farmers’ lands and set fire to farming machine that belongs to a villager. Local sources said that the settlers were from the nearby Yetsehar settlement originally built on lands taken from the villagers of Oreef.
At the nearby village of Qarout settlers erected checkpoints using metal nails to stop farmers from plowing their land. The settlers were from the nearby settlement of Shilo, local sources reported.
Villagers say the settlers want to stop them from using their land so settlers could expand their settlements.
There are 470 Israeli settlers living in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. All Israeli settlement in the Palestinian Occupied areas are illegal under international law.
