GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Medics on Tuesday retrieved the corpse of a Palestinian man shot dead by Israeli forces a day earlier east of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
Gaza medical services spokesman Adham Abu Salima said Bassam Barham Ad-Daghma's body was transferred to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
Abu Salima added that medics coordinated with Israeli forces to ensure that a Palestinian ambulance was allowed access to the area, which Israel considers a live combat zone.
On Monday evening, the Israeli army said forces opened fire on a group of Palestinians east of Khan Younis, killing one.
An army spokesman said at the time the group was planting explosive devices close to the electronic fence, adding that one soldier was lightly injured by retaliatory fire.
