-January 15, 2010: the weekly demonstration against house evictions at the same location.
-The problem: only one permit for public gatherings was issued for the week.

The weekly protest against house evictions in Sheikh Jarrah begins with a meeting at Mashbir Plaza in West Jerusalem, followed by a march to East Jerusalem. On January 15, however, eight police cars were waiting at the meeting point and broke up the crowd. Protestors and activists then had to cancel the march, and proceed to Sheikh Jarrah in small groups instead.
