The human rights community in Israel condemns the extreme silencing of protest in Israel
Reageer (0)16-1-2010
In recent weeks, the police has made dozens of false arrests of demonstrators in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
At yesterday’s protest (15 January 2010) Executive Directors of two leading Israeli human rights organizations – Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), and Rabbis for Human Rights – were among the 17 arrested.
The Police’s conduct intended to silence legitimate protest against the dispossession of Palestinians from their homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, and indicates a strong political agenda.
