Reageer (0)Deze avond bijna van mijn stoel gevallen bij het bekijken naar de herhalingen van het NOS-nieuws op Ned1: Premier Netanyahu is de Navy-soldaten die deelnamen aan de aanval op de Marmara hulpflotilla naar Gaza gaan bezoeken in de Israëlische navy-basis in Atlit.
De complete absurditeit van het discours van Netanyahu noopt me tot een open brief aan Netanyahu, ik ben boos!
Beste Mr Netanyahu,
1) U zegt: The deployment of the Shayetet 13 naval commando unit was 'indispensable, necessary, important and legal
Pardon??? Legal??? Neen Mr Netanyahu: de Marmara flotilla werd geënterd in de Internationale wateren! Dat Deployment was, is en zal altijd ILLEGAAL zijn! Turkije Uw bondgenoot sinds jaren vond de inval op de Marmara- flotilla zo'n ernstige inbreuk van het internationale maritieme recht, dat de relaties met Turkije tot een historisch dieptepunt gezakt!
2) 'Gaza has become an Iranian terror base that endangers the state of Israel,' Netanyahu was quoted as saying Tuesday by his office. 'It is very close to us and very dangerous.' Maar Mr Netanyahu toch! Hoe zou Gaza een Iranian terror base kunnen geworden zijn? Dat kan onmogelijk, en dat weet u ook! Waarom niet? Gaza is al jaren afgesloten van de buitenwereld!
3) The soldiers has acted 'heroically'... Tja...: Israeli Soldier Sentenced For Stealing Equipment From Mavi Marmara Flotilla Die soldaat werd veroordeeld tot een gevangenisstraf van 5 maanden! [The stolen equipment included six laptops, two photographic lenses and a compass. The Israeli officer was convicted on Monday and sentenced to serve a five-month prison term, pay a NIS 700 fine and was demoted from first lieutenant to private.]

4) 'You fighters had to deal with one of the groups supporting the terror that was violent, armed with knives, clubs, electrical saws and firearms,' Netanyahu told the naval officers. Mr Netanyahu: Alle getuigenissen van passagievan die flotilla stellen dat elke medepassagier vòòr het inschepen op wapens gefouilleerd werd. ... Erg heroïsch is het niet om een boot vol ongewapende activisten aan te vallen, in internationale waters dan nog!
Mr Netanyahu, als U denkt dat de wereldopinie U in dezer volgt dan bent U aan het verkeerde adres!
Zoveel absurditeiten in Uw discours zijn me van ' slechte (ik kan nu toch moeilijk van 't goeie' te veel zeggen.) te veel.
Ik stel voor dat U eens gaat nadenken over het volgende citaat van Voltaire: Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.
Uw regering heeft de Israëli soldaten zoveel absurditeiten wijsgemaakt, dat Uw soldaten in deze Marmara flotilla-aanval (en elders in Israël zelf en in de bezette gebieden) onnoemelijke wreedheden begingen.. Ik hoop dat U daar lering uit trekt!
Mag ik op Uw medewerking rekenen om
1) het Internationaal Strafhof te erkennen en
2) de verantwoordelijke ministers, legerstafleden en individuele soldaten die betrokken waren bij de wreedheden tegen de Marmara-flotilla, over te dragen aan dat internationaal strafhof?

Tel Aviv - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday praised the Navy unit that was involved in the deadly interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in late May.
Netanyahu said during a visit to a military base in Atlit on the Mediterranean coast that the soldiers had acted 'heroically' during a confrontation aboard one of the vessels, the Turkish Mavi Marmara.
Nine pro-Palestinian activists were killed during the incident. Both sides have blamed each other as being responsible for the bloodshed.
International outcry over the raid eventually led Israel to ease its four-year-old blockade on the Gaza Strip.
'Gaza has become an Iranian terror base that endangers the state of Israel,' Netanyahu was quoted as saying Tuesday by his office. 'It is very close to us and very dangerous.'
The deployment of the Shayetet 13 naval commando unit was 'indispensable, necessary, important and legal,' he went on to say.
'You fighters had to deal with one of the groups supporting the terror that was violent, armed with knives, clubs, electrical saws and firearms,' Netanyahu told the naval officers.
Given the deadly threat, the soldiers acted 'professionally, heroically, cautiously, ethically,' he added.
