VIOLATIONS: Extrajudicial Killing by Israeli military death squad.
On 7 January 2011 Israeli soldiers assassinated Omer Salim Al-Qawasmi.
Mr Al-Qawasmi’s wife said he was sleeping and she was praying when soldiers burst into the apartment before dawn, entered the bedroom and immediately fired 13 bullets into Mr Al-Qawasmi’s head. Afterward they asked her for his identity card. They then cuffed her mouth, held a gun to her, told her to shut up, and walked out.
